Cultivating Talent, sponsored by Westland Horticulture
Following a successful pilot in 2023, Bord Bia Bloom’s Cultivating Talent initiative returns this year with support from new sponsors, Westland Horticulture. The programme provides financial support and one-to-one mentoring to emerging designers, helping them to design and deliver their first show garden at the festival. This year’s winners are Nóra Tombor (Rewild!) and Sarah Buckley (The Mind Yourself Garden).
What is the difference between a show garden, concept show garden, and a feature garden?
There are 19 show gardens and three feature gardens at Bloom this year. The show gardens are split into four categories: Large, Medium, Small and Concept. Concept gardens are artistic installations or abstract exhibits, while all other show gardens are designed to suit residential gardens or balconies. The feature gardens are special garden displays that are not entered into the show gardens competition.
