We’re getting ready to launch our collection of 20 magnificent Show Gardens for Bord Bia Bloom 2025 and this year we’re excited to welcome a number of new designers, plus some old friends.
Among the newcomers joining us this year are Sarah Cotterill, winner of the 2025 Bord Bia Bloom Cultivating Talent initiative, sponsored by Westland Horticulture. Sarah is an Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at University College Dublin with expertise in sustainable water management. Her small garden, Into The Forest, is inspired by the unique oceanic woodlands of the west of Ireland and will evoke the beauty of these ancient forests.
Pip Probert will also join us as a new designer this year. Pip began her career in 2005 with her debut RHS show garden at Tatton Park. Since then, she has designed 42 show gardens, earning an impressive 50 medals, including a prestigious platinum award at BBC Gardeners’ World Live in 2024. For Pip’s first Bord Bia Bloom, she is creating a vibrant, large garden for Tusla Fostering. Fostering Is For You is a heartfelt tribute to the fostering community, symbolising unity, diversity, and connection.
David Negus, from Suffolk, England, is another first-time Bloom designer. David has received numerous awards for his designs in UK garden shows. He merges architecture and horticulture to create meaningful, sustainable landscapes, redefining garden design through circular principles. David is designing the European Commission’s ‘Renewed Blooms’ Garden, which will embody EU circular economy principles by repurposing materials and blending nature with human-made elements.
Familiar faces
Among the designers returning to Bloom this year are 2023 Cultivating Talent alumnus, Joe Eustace, who is designing The Support Garden for the Decision Support Service. The Support Garden will embody the deeply personal journey of advance planning, reflecting themes of strength, trust, and care.
The Pot Gallery Garden, designed by Alan Rudden and sponsored by Alan Rudden Collection
Alan Rudden is back at Bord Bia Bloom this year and this time; he’s bringing his exciting new business with him. The Alan Rudden Collection is collection of a handcrafted garden pots and a vertical living wall system which Alan will be supplying to the industry and public. Alan, a winner of eight gold medals at Bord Bia Bloom, is designing and sponsoring The Pot Gallery Garden, a small show garden which will demonstrate showcase how pots, both freestanding and vertical, can be used creatively to green-up hard spaces such as courtyards, balconies or roof terraces.
We are looking forward to welcoming back French landscape architect Louise Checa and French car brand, Citroën, to Bloom. The Citroën Downsizers’ Garden, inspired by and featuring the new Citroën Ami, is designed for downsizers and highlights how our needs evolve in tune with our lifestyles and life stages. The design underscores that when it comes to downsizing there is no need for compromise; you can have it all.
