About the Garden - Small Concept Garden
A Love Letter to Abbeyleix showcases the natural beauty of the landscape of Abbeyleix House and Farm and the charm surrounding Abbeyleix town in County Laois. The design pays homage to the serene beauty and uniqueness of the area, capturing its spirit and recognising its flexibility and adaptability to change.
The design combines woodland and ornamental planting to create a natural and traditional garden. Many materials have been sourced from Abbeyleix House and Farm, including oak trees grown from harvested acorns that have been nurtured for a decade.
The garden has been designed by Patrik Weisser, who works at the Laois property, and the team is looking forward to bringing the Bord Bia Bloom experience back home after the festival. All materials from this show garden will be used to create a new garden at Abbeyleix House and Farm which will be enjoyed for many years to come.
About the Designer
Designer Information
Patrik Weisser moved to Ireland from the Czech Republic and resides in Abbeyleix, County Laois. He graduated from TU Dublin with B.Sc Honours in Horticulture and is currently working at Abbeyleix House and Farm.
Patrik is passionate about landscape design. He worked for many years with an award-winning designer as part of a landscaping team and in 2019 he took part in RTÉ’s Super Garden. This is Patrik’s first show garden for Bord Bia Bloom.
