About the Garden - Large Garden
Full of greenery and colour, this walkthrough garden is a space where all five senses of sight, touch, taste, and sound can be explored.
Here, nestled in a boundary of native hedgerows, you will find a series of expansive fruit fields that are bursting with apple trees, rhubarb patches, fruit bushes and strawberry plants. They create an open and engaging growing environment where you can enjoy the sights of the juicy fresh produce available, learn how each plant is grown, and gain a greater understanding of how important fresh fruit is for our own diets and for Ireland’s wildlife.
A farm structure constructed from humble agricultural materials forms an interactive hub at the garden’s centre, while traditional stone walls provide a tactile finish to the fruit fields. The design demonstrates how gardeners can take inspiration from Ireland’s farming landscape to create a beautiful and bountiful garden at home.
